Geo Challenge on Facebook
I am not a Facebook geek and never added those stupid and useless Facebook applications; but this Geo Challenge application is surely fun. I just knew about this application last week and have grown fond of it.
You are given 60 seconds to complete each of three available stages. In Suitcase Shuffle, you have to match countries with their flags. I used to read The World Encyclopedia of Flags and remembered flags there when I was in Junior High School which helps me a lot to pass this first stage with great score. In Map Mayhem, you have to match countries with their geographical shapes. Last stage is City Blitz. You are asked to put pin wherever you think certain cities are located. The closer you put your pin, the higher your score will be.
After they calculated your total score, they will tell you your ranking. There are 35 rankings, ranging from agoraphobe, bus driver, geography student, cabin crew, news anchor, airline pilot, diplomat to superhuman. My high score is 21.091 which made me ranked as cartographer. One guy named Mario score more than 77 thousands and ranked as geography guru.
Anyway, I highly recommend this application for those who are excel in Geography. Even if you are not, you can have some fun and learn something by taking this quiz.
P.S: Some people invited me to be his/her friends on Facebook or even asked me to add them. Truly sorry, I have to reject your invitations since I do not want to have unknown stranger in my friends list. We can still be friend through this blog, can’t we? I appreciate your understanding.

Bung Tobing, if I take that quiz…I will most likely end up crying for realizing how ..errr.. geography-challenged I am.
I’m not a facebook-geek myself. I’m a facebook-whore *GRIN*
I spend way too much time on facebook not for its applications, but to go stalking.
I like reading random people’s “about me” bit. It’s like a hobby. I enjoy reading how people describe themselves. Try it, it’s amusing *stares meaningfully*
and I would also like to say that I don’t approve friend requests from people I don’t know, but that’d be a lie. Because it’s kind of hard to reject or ignore a request from your boyfriend’s friends, even if you haven’t met them in person. I guess I’m that nice. haha.
yeah, being delusional is fun. (me? nice?! ;p)
But I don’t go around adding people (when sober). I’m a bit of a snob as well *nods wisely*

I play almost all stupid applications on facebook. one application makes me laugh is how padang are you quiz and the result is urang awak kaki ka kapalo (totally padang by blood and by everything
)
yes for the Geo application, I played it several months ago. It was fun really. Just like studying Geography (Blind Map) in amusing way, I forgot what my score was. But the challenge was okay

@Miedy:
Thanks for paying back my visit.
I should admit that the term unknown strangers I used above might be too harsh, but it refers more to people who never commented in my articles and just emailed me to ask for add. Of course, I don’t admit people who often communicate with me through this or their blog as unknown stranger.
I’ve blogrolled you back lohh..
@dramaqueeningrumpt:
So, yeah, this quiz will be useful for us.
Haha, I just realized that we didn’t really learn much about other countries in high school’s Geography class. I remembered the teacher kept talking about climate, soil, and things like that.
Well, I’ve to admit that I accepted friend request from those with “LUMBAN TOBING” family name.
@yonna:
I got pretty good score on How Batak Are You quiz and don’t even speak Bataknese, what an irony.
@Anton Soeharyo:
Done that bro.

hey yuki! long time no comment..

well, it seems that I might be the least cool person on the planet, because I don’t own a Facebook account!
can you believe it? hahaha. well, I just don’t like following the trend. let the trend fades away itself, and may be I’ll consider about signing up there.
yea, I know it’s about networking and stuff, but I agree with you. I don’t like strangers to add me as their friends when we’ve never even met, or talked before. well. may be when Facebook is no longer a world phenomenon, I’ll make an account there. lol.
anyway. is there any way that I can play this game outside facebook?
cuz it seems a lot of fun, and I think I did well in geography back in high school…

I guess now you are saying it - the usefulness of these kind of application of which I always ignore - then I’d try :). My dear - you are cool enough indeed for people to add yours on theirs (May I add yours on mine?
)

@Anggi:
Nice to know yours as well Anggi.
@macangadungan:
Hahaha, in contrary, I love it. I can’t access your blog, what happened?
@Sani:
Yeah, you can easily track your old missing friends in Facebook.
@Vienz:
I didn’t join it for the sake of following trend though, use it to communicate with friends and track old missing friends. Nice to have you here, where’ve you been lately?
@Rima Fauzi:
Hahahaha. How dare you to think I read such book?
@Luigi:
Haha, you talk as if you’re stranger in this blog Mas Luigi. You’ve visited my blog quite often and I read your blog through bloglines, there’s no reason to see you as stranger. Besides, it’d great to have PeaceKeeper as friend. Surely you may add me.
November 30th, 2008 at 6:52 pm
yea, I know some people who really use it for the sake of networking, and that’s fine with me…
why I don’t own an fb account is because…well, it’s just me being me. haha!
I’ve been nowhere else.
Well, I think I should keep my old reputation as one of your top commenters, shouldn’t I? so I come back.. haha. just kidding. but I’m still lovin’ your posts!
